Custom Web Application Development
Most small businesses do not need more software. They need one piece of software that fits, replacing the spreadsheet, the whiteboard and the three tools that do not talk to each other.
What we build
We build web applications that run the operational core of a business — the part that is currently held together by spreadsheets, email threads and somebody's memory. If your team has a process that only works because one person knows all the steps, that process is a candidate.
- Job, project and workflow management
- Quoting, contracts and progress billing
- Customer and client portals
- Reporting dashboards and internal tools
- Integrations between systems you already pay for
How it goes
We start by watching how the work is done now — not by asking what features you want. The requirements come out of the process, and they are usually smaller and sharper than a feature list would have been.
From there it is short cycles with something working at the end of each one. You see the real thing early and often, which is the only reliable way to find out that a screen does not match how the job actually runs.
- Discovery — we map the process as it exists today
- Design — screens and data model, reviewed before anything is built
- Build — short cycles, working software you can use at each step
- Launch — data migrated, staff trained, running on your own domain
- Aftercare — we keep it patched, backed up and changing as you do
Who owns it
You do. The code, the data and the domain are yours, and we will hand over the repository whenever you ask. We would rather keep your business by being worth keeping than by making it painful to leave.
